Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would like to know more about your pain:

- Is the pain triggered by deep breathing or body movement? This would be indicative of a musculo-skeletal pain.

- Is the pain related to eating or bending over? This may be indicative of gastritis or gastro-esophageal reflux.

Anyway, I would recommend taking one tablet of acetaminophen or ibuprofen coupled with one tablet of Zantac or omeprazole (or an antiacid if you have one at home).

If your situation does not improve within the next hour after taking these drugs, I would recommend going to the ER for a physical exam and some tests:

- a resting ECG and cardiac enzymes
- a chest X ray study
- complete blood count, PCR, ESR for inflammation.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

It may be a musculo-skeletal pain or just anxiety.

I recommend you to close your eyes and take some deep breaths. Try to focus on your breathing.

Did you take an acetaminophen? If it helps, this will be indicative of musculo-skeletal pain underlying your symptoms.

Anyway, if your situation does not improve or even worsen, I would recommend going to the ER for the above mentioned tests.

Hope to have been helpful!

Wishing all the best,

Dr. Iliri
