Brief Answer:
Could be due to acid peptic disease....

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

This kind of pain is generally due to acid peptic disease. I will start you on proton pump inhibitors like nexpro 40mg once a day before breakfast for 2 weeks. You should also cut down high spicy food, beverages, smoking and alcohol; if any. Avoid hitting the bed immediately after your dinner; give it atleast an hour before you go to sleep.

As you start these measures, you can get get baseline cardiac check up - ECG and stress test. Those two test along with blood sugar, blood pressure, serum cholesterol and high sensitive CRP test will give us fair idea about your current and prospective heart status. The cardiac evaluation is more important if you are long term smoker, have family history of heart disease and are obese.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Brief Answer:
Sure....

Detailed Answer:
Though I am not really worried about a heart illness at this point of time, it would be worthwhile to get the base line heart check up done through your physician / cardiologist.

I also recommend you practice a healthy lifestyle - physical exercise, low calorie/low fat diet and proper weight maintenance.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Regards
