Question: Hi Sir, m having this chest discomfort with light headiness past 5 years. I was admitted to the hospital in 2009 where my ECG was not normal post which I was diagnosed with MVP with trivial MR and my cardiac enzymes were lil high but some troponin test was negative. After a year due to same issue I had a tmt test which came postitve and then gone for an angiography which was negative. I also have this weird mild buzzing sound in left ear for past 4 years. I Dont smoke drink occasionally age 30 male..I Dont get these symptoms when I play football. It comes only at rest, I also have this acidity and gas problem for which I did a endoscopy test which was normal 4 years back. Please advice me if something is wrong with my heart or what should I do?

Brief Answer:
Less likely to be a serious heart problem...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Chest discomfort and light headedness are strongly associated symptoms of heart ailment. However considering you been investigated thoroughly with no significant abnormalities, it is less likely to have serious heart illness. I understand you have MVP. But that seems to be producing trival MR only. If you have the complete echocardiogram report, please upload the report on this page. There is a feature to upload images and reports provided on the right side of this page - you can utilize that feature.
As far as TMT result is concerned, angiography has ruled out significant coronary blockage.

Given these clinical data, chance that something is seriously wrong with your heart is highly unlikely.

What should you do now?
At this instant, since you also complain of tinnitus (ear buzzing), I will refer you to an ENT specialist. Tinnitus many a times is from an organic ear condition. But some other cause are from systemic / inorganic problems. A few systemic pathology such as anemia, circulatory disturbance, nutritional and electrolyte deficiency can explain both tinnitus as well as the light headiness.

The next steps of management can be planned after ENT evaluation.

I had my blood test done twice everything was normal except my ldl level which was 179. I've been asked to take statin but m not having it coz of its side effects. I've controlled my diet and m now m physically active.
Ive already visited an ENT specialist 3 yrs back she didn't go for any test rather gave me some medicines which did give me relief n she told me its more likely coz of allergy. Should I go for a CT scan? Is der anything serious? Coz of all this my life is too stressful.

Brief Answer:
CT scan not the primary investigation...

Detailed Answer:
I am not sure what blood test were done. I presume the test was for cardiac work up. Since cardiologically nothing was found, I suggest evaluation under ENT specialist expertise.

It's good news that you already saw an ENT 3 years ago. But if the symptoms has evolved since the last 3 years, I will encourage you to revisit him/her again. Moreover CT scan isn't the primary investigation for tinnitus. It comes secondary to clinical examination findings as well as hearing test. Therefore wise to consult an ENT again.

I understand things aren't still clear to you yet. But the positive news it doesn't seem to be a serious problem that you should be worried off. You should de stress. Destress measures has proved to be a great relief to many of my patients with similar chronic complaints.

Hope I made sense. I'll be happy to talk to you again if you feel the need.

Good luck!!
