Brief Answer:
Yes, it could be

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

After reading your query I would like to suggest you that burning sensation in the chest region could possibly be due to following reasons

1. Cardiac

In this situation, person sometimes complains of having burning sensation in the chest which is most likely due to the ischeamia going on or sometimes due to cardiac inflammatory conditions like pericarditis.

2. Gastro-Esophageal disorders or Acid peptic disease could also be the reason of burning sensation in the chest. If you have any habit of taking fried and spicy food stuff this could be one possible reason behind this.

3. Respiratory condition like infection of the lungs, or if you smoke it can cause these symptoms.

Now all these possibilities can be identified by going through few investigations like:

For cardiac ; 12 lead EKG, ECHOCARDIOGRAM and Stress test
For Gastric condition by upper GI endoscopy
For Respiratory by a chest X-ray

So it's advisable to consult your doctor personally and get yourself evaluated properly.

I hope this information will be of help.

If you have any other doubts you can ask me back.

Wish you good health
Regards
