What Causes Boils On The Base Of Penis And Pubic Area?

default
Posted on Mon, 8 Sep 2014
Question: Hi, I've been developing these boils on the base of my penis and in my pubic area. They've been there for nearly a couple of weeks and the huge pimple like boil in my pubic area appeared around 2-3 days. There seems to be a slight leakage of pus from the boils on the Base of my penis. There's also some amount of pain.

Any medical advise and treatment solutions you may have would be much appreciated.

Brief Answer:
Kindly provide pictures and details

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same.
Now from the description, it looks like you have developed lesions of folliculitis in the groin region. But I would like to have a look at the exact skin condition before we can be sure of the diagnosis.
For some reason, I am not able to see your pictures in the link provided.
I would request you to kindly upload some close up good resolution images of the affected area here on this page. You can be assured that the images will be confidential.
Also please tell if you had any outside contact before the development of the skin lesions.
Do you shave the groin region?
Anything you have been applying over it? Any cream or oil?
Did you notice any fluid filled lesions also?

I am sure I will be able to help you better once you provide me with the pictures and the above details.

I have had these lessons for around 10 days... I can't recall any outside contact having been there, and I don't apply any creams or oil in the groin region. Although I do occasionally shave down there.

I've enclosed the pictures that you had asked for which were taken yesterday.

The huge pimple like boil in the pubic area has now grown slightly bigger and is producing more towards the front. The skin around it is a little swollen.

Brief Answer:
Start treatment right away, folliculitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

I have seen the attached pictures.
You surely have a severe folliculitis over the groin areas
You should start with tablet azithromycin 500 mg once a day for five days.
In addition, take tablet paracetamol 650 mg thrice a day.
Clean the affected area twice a day with lukewarm saline water and apply a topical antibiotic cream like t-bact cream over the affected area twice a day.
Take the above treatment for five days regularly .
You need to start the above treatment right away since the infection is already too much in your case.
