What Causes Body Tremors And Difficulty In Finding Words?

Question: This past year is making me feel almost like a hypochondriac as I've been experiencing several annoying issues which may see from my various question at this site. Shakiness to slight tremor mostly with left hand especially y thumb the shaky feeling is noticed more after eating or if I wait to long to eat. Sometimes when I don't notice the hand shaking my sister says it is. Now finding words is sometimes a challenge or more like hoe to pronounce them so I'll find away around that. I know it is annoying to me and I can see my husband is starting to get annoyed as well. Vision is also getting more blurry at times. I thought it may be thyroid related.....had TT due to PTC and getting synthroid right. But test come back normal range as did a non fasting metabolic panel. I haven't lost my sense of smell which I hear is a sign of parkinson's so luckily can rule that out. I'm not even sure if my community has a neurologist but if we do should I ask to see one and what kind of test should I expect? Could it be heaven metals and is that a blood test?

Brief Answer:
Need to rule out Parkinson's disease.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms and agree with you that you need to be examined by a neurologist.

You require a careful neurological examination by a neurologist to look for clinical evidence of Parkinson's disease (PD). No tests are necessary to exclude PD. Absence of rigidity of limbs and slowness would be points against PD.

Also, vitamin B12 deficiency should be excluded.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,

Might I try the B12 first and see if I notice a difference. What would be a good dosage and how long should I give it to notice a change? I go back to endocrinologist this week to go over labs which I think included some form of vit B. testing and metabolic syndrome....but they already notified me that my blood work came back in normal range. Having said that I realize the norm is an average so is there an optimal B12 that would exclude Parkinson's or the risk go getting it? Also the treatment for thyroid cancer TT is to keep TSH low. Mind is .5 could that cause these symptoms even though that is in normal range. I'm taking 150 mcg synthroid
I ask because I was having some of these issues prior to surgery a year ago but seems to have increased since then

Brief Answer:
You could start vitamin B12 supplements.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

Yes, you can start vitamin B12 supplements. The optimum dose could be 500 mcg once daily. You should take it for at least one month to see any noticeable difference.

0.5 TSH is normal and it would not explain your symptoms.

Best wishes,
