Question: I am on nitrofuran monohyd macro 100mg for an urinary tract /kidney infection.5 days into this med. I am see ing light blood I also have a yeast infection from this med

There is nothing to worry.The light blood which you are complaining of while urination is due to the drug nitrofuran, which your taking for urinary tract infection. The light blood which you complain of is not blood, actually nitrofurantoin colours the urine brown which appears to the patient as bleeding and this coloration of urine is completely harmless. In fact physician informs their patient regarding this side effect while prescribing this medicine. Regarding the second part of your question that you have developed yeast infection from this medicine, yes one can develop super added yeast infection due antibiotic therapy. I would suggest you consult your treating physician, who may change the antibiotic or may prescribe you treatment for yeast infection, depending upon your clinical condition.
