Brief Answer:
Most probably hard stool is causing blood appearance

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thank you for getting back with the answers. I have gone through them. Most common causes of blood in stool (for your case) includes:

- Irritation of anal mucosa (lining) due to hard stool
- Blood from stomach (can be due to gastritis or ulcer)
- Hemorrhoids & other large Gut pathologies

Among these causes, irritation of mucosa due to hard stool is most probably the cause in your case. Hopefully blood will stop appearing if stool becomes normal in consistency. Following measures will help you in reducing constipation:

1. Increase Dietary fiber intake:
It is available in multiple forms like fresh fruits, vegetables & cereals.

2. Increase fluids intake:
it is the key to treatment. Take at least 8-10 glasses of water daily. Avoid milk & milk products because in some cases it aggravates constipation.

3. Oral stool softeners:
They are easy to use and have shown good results. Some of the OTC includes Colace & Surfak. Avoid long term use.

4. Methyl Cellulose is a bulk producing laxative is OTC. You can take 2 tablets after every 6hrs.

If condition remains same or aggravates then I would suggest you to once visit hospital and get an appointment for a "Consultant gastroenterologist". They will order some labs including stool examination (to check if blood is fresh or old), ultrasound abdomen & if required Upper GI endoscopy along with some other tests if they feel necessary. Further management will depend upon the results.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
