What Causes Blocked Salivary Gland?

Question: Hi doctor, I have on right lateral side of tongue in the second third of tongue, middle hard, white, thin, 3mm long, look like small roller, what it can be? I am 33 yrs old, last year stoped smoking...
this think is there from monday, or from monday i know about it...

It's in the middle of foto, XXXXXXX about 3mm a 1 mm raised, palpable under skin of tongue, not as white as i think, lighter than other skin of tongue, i think its papilla, but not sure...dont now howlong is it there, i know about it 4 days, without any changes...

Thanks for posting the images

I have examined the images thoroughly and I am of the opinion that it could be either the blocked minor salivary gland or hypertrophied papilla of the tongue.

Sometimes minor salivary gland opening gets blocked due to trauma or inflammation. It balloons up due to continued production of the secretions. This resolves by itself once the block gets relieved.

The normal lingual papilla gets hypertrophied due to consumption of hot/spicy food or damage caused by sharp food or the teeth.

Do not worry! Both of them are harmless lesions of the tongue, which will resolve by itself.

Drink lots of warm water. Avoid constant palpation of the lesion.

Thank you very much for your answer doc.How long does it take to be normal? and do you think,I shall go to doctor,or not...Lesion doesn't hurt,but still look same and I can feel it in mouth...
