What Causes Blister On Scrotum?

default
Posted on Mon, 4 May 2015
Question: Hello I notice after I shave that I get 1 or 2 little blisters on my scrotum always right side and same spot. I don't know if they even look like blisters. Kinda raised tender bump. but it does seem to have fluid. almost like water maybe puss. Doesn't itch or anything. Does feel sensitive when I touch it. But weird thing is after I pop it skin tears and after couple days it's back. Would herpes keep comin back after popped in exact spot. I hope it's due to shaving since that's when I notice it. Doesn't hurt. It's very mild and small. there's always same 2 just keeps coming back after a day or 2. Thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us.

Genital herpes usually presents as recurrent erosion's that may be grouped yet discrete Or they may be confluent.
Genital herpes usually recurs at the same spot/ site. The lesions may be asymptomatic Or minimally symptomatic.

Brief Answer:
Not a genital herpes; seems like a glandular cyst.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

I apologize for some delay in my reply. I have reviewed the Images.

I can see a single slightly raised bump with a crusty surface from dried up secretions.

No, it does not look like genital herpes.

This is most likely a small glandular cyst/ sebaceous cyst which probably gets infected when you pop it Or gets accidentally injured during shaving and therefore tender.

You may apply an OTC topical antibacterial e.g 2% mupirocin ointment twice daily for a few days.

I also suggest a course of an Oral antibacterial e.g either Amoxycillin or Cephalexin for a week, to help resolve infection.
