Brief Answer:
Please clarify what is the substance in the gas pills

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

bleeding after defecation is usually caused by hemorrhoids particularly for individuals in your age. Have you ever been pregnant? Pregnancy imposes a heavy load on the hemorrhoids and may cause permanent damage to them. The peppermint oil appears to be safe if used properly. It should be avoided when stomach acidity is impaired. For example if the gas pill contains antacids or any substance that reduces stomach acidity then peppermint oil should not be administered because it may cause heartburn and other stomach problems.
Blood coming out of the hemorrhoids is bright red and can be wiped off with toilet paper. You can also find the blood in the stool.
Blood mixed with the stool as a uniform mixture is likely of enteric origin.
You should check with your doctor whether you've got hemorrhoids or not. Important information that may change the investigation strategy would include a family history of colon cancer at an early age (<40-45 years of age) or a personal history of intestinal problems (polyps, cancer etc).
I hope I've helped.
If you'd like more information, please ask and I'll be glad to answer!

Kind Regards!
