Brief Answer:
it depends

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

the answer to your question is that it depends on the cause. For example if she had a stroke that caused paralysis she may never get back her mobility or it may take months. If she's just weakened by prolonged immobility then it will take from few days to few weeks (depending on her general condition).

The crazy stuff can be caused either by dementia or as side effect of the drugs she's taken in the hospital. The first scenario sounds more likely. Patients with borderline brain function may seem normal when they're OK but when ill they start saying stupid things and/or become confused about the time, location or other important information. Sometimes they may become aggressive or combative. Getting better will probably be beneficial to her brain status.

I hope it helps!
Kind Regards!
