Brief Answer:
Several causes of acid reflux and bleeding diarrhea

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,

Are you having any pain?

The most common causes of bleeding diarrhea are:
- Hemorrhoids
- Diverticulitis and diverticulosis
- Colitis such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease
- Infections
- Rectal Fissures
- Cancer
- Angiodysplasia

Ultimately, you need to go to your doctor to get routine screening blood work to make sure you are not anemic or have any electrolyte abnormalities. You also need to make sure you do not have any coagulopathic disease. You will also need a colonoscopy to make sure it is not colon cancer which is very important are your age.

At the same time as a colonoscopy, you will probably need an upper endoscopy so your doctor can look into your stomach to see why you are having significant acid reflux. You most likely have a hiatal hernia which is causing your symptoms. Hiatal hernia's are mostly resistant to medications.

You can also try:
- Smaller portions
- Elevate head of bed
- Avoid meals 2 to 3 hours before bedtime.
- Avoid stooping, bending and tight-fitting garments.
- Avoid medications that relax XXXXXXX (anticholinergic drugs; calcium channel blockers).
- Weight loss
- Tobacco cessation and alcohol avoidance
