What Causes Abdominal Discomfort On Right Side?

Question: I have a discomfort in the right side. Don't think it is my stomach. It does not hurt but it is uncomfortable. I still can eat and go about my daily routine. I am 32. Male. I weigh 165 lbs and am 6'1. I have never been hospitalized for any health issues. I am not on medication. I did go to the doctor a year ago for chest pains and extreme headaches. We never found the cure but we think it was stress related. I am thinking this is the reason now. Wondering what it could be and if any medicines I could try to see if that helps. I've been noticing it since about Friday. The past couple of days it has been harder to sleep and get comfortable. The discomfort comes and goes.

Hello , Thanks for posting in health care magic

I really feel that its originating from stomach. As tension, stress causes gastritis particularly in your age group, gastritis has be first ruled out.

Try to avoid too hot spicy or too sour foods, try not to be in empty stomach for more than 3 hours.

Take Omeprazole daily in empty stomach early in the morning for 15 days and feel whether there is any change. Drink plenty of water and fruit juices (min 2 to 3 ltrs/day) and avoid spicy and oily food.

If the discomfort is not relieved then an Ultrasonography of abdomen and a Chest Xray has to be done.
