What Causes A Fluttering Sensation In The Upper Right Groin Area?

Question: I am healthy but today I began to feel a slight fluttering sensation in my upper right groin area. The sensation is like a low vibration and it comes and goes. Any thoughts on what this may mean?

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms could be related to a muscular contractions or distension.

Have you had a lot of physical activity before this began? It could lead to a similar symptomatology.

Another possible cause could be electrolyte imbalance. Anyway, in such case these feeling would occur in many regions of the body, especially in the limbs.

Anyway, it does not seem to be something concerning.

If the problem persists, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a careful physical exam and some tests:

- a pelvic ultrasound, including this area
- some blood lab tests (complete blood count, PCR, sedimentation rate, blood electrolytes).
