What Causes 4.5 Cm Fibroid In Uterus?
Question: hai doctor, I am 43yr, old woman.According to ultra sound scanning I have 4.5cm sized fibroid inside the utres.I have regular periods,it comes with in 22-25days. it lasts for 8 to 10 days.one or two days heavy bleeding accompanied with abdominal pain etc.usually. I take medicines .meftal spas and Trapic MF for pain relief and excess bleeding. I was advised by my family Dr. to remove utres. Is it required at this stage please help me Dr.

A fibroid of 4.5 cm is large enough to cause discomfort and heavy bleeding. If your bleeding is well controlled with the help of medicines and there is not much pain in the lower abdomen then you can wait till your symptoms become more severe or the fibroid becomes enlarged to get the uterus removed. Fibroid is a benign swelling and it can remain like this for years. It does not become cancerous. If your bleeding and pain are manageable then you can avoid the surgery for few years.

Thank you Dr.for the advice. Is there any side effects for Meftal spas and Trapic MF if I consume 2to 4 tablets during my menstrual periods?
