Question: Hi,
My wife has irregular periods. This month's menstruation has not stopped even after 12 days, should she take any medicine to stop it?.
She had PCOD complaint before. We have a 3 yr old kid.
Please advise.

Hello Mr. XXXXXXX PCOD patients commonly have irregular periods.
But bleeding for such a long period is not a good thing.
Give her tablet tranexemic acid 500 mg thrice a day for 3 days.
In case this pattern continues or recurrs in next cycle then visit your gynecologist for examination and transvaginal ultrasound.
