The allowable dose of a medicine depends upon the body weight. For ibuprofen it is 5 mg/kg/dose. That means that for your child of 8 months, it is certainly an overdose. Please visit the Emergency Room of a hospital with pediatric facilities, without delay. They would be able to assess the scenario, keep the child under observation and administer suitable supportive measures as required.

* Heartburn or Stomach pain (possible bleeding in stomach and intestines)
* Nausea or Vomiting

Kidneys
* Little to no urine production

Lungs
* Breathing - difficulty with or without Wheezing

Nervous system
* Headache
* Agitation
* Confusion
* Coma
* Drowsiness
* Seizures
* Dizziness
* Unsteadiness

Skin
* Rash
* Sweating
