Detailed Answer:
Hello young lady,

Welcome again tot he forum and thanks a lot for sending all the good resolution pictures for the analysis. I can see that you have got open pres all over your face but more concentrated over cheeks and forehead.

I can make out that you have used the cream for 2 years and the cream contains alpha-arbutin, liquorice extract, mulberry extract 1 %. All of these compounds are quite safe and can eb used for long term period. but two years is bit longer period of time and in opinion you should give some rest to your skin.

In other ways this cream has got no relationship with your open pores or darkness.

It appears from your query as well as pictures that you are quite worried about both pores and bit of dulness.

First of all you should understand that open pores are part and parcel of skin. This is not a disease in itself.

Open pores are nothing but these are much much needed thing to prevent our skin from getting blocked and therefore for excretion of oil secreted by skin.

If these pores were not their then you would have had blockage of pores and eruption of pimples.

We dermatologists very often come across such cases like yourself and suggest them to use tretinoin (under dermatological supervision only) for a long term of period which will help in restoration of pore size. So take a proper personal guidance form a dermatologist who can guide you best regarding its usage and application. Please do not try to have self medication as you did for ban a XXXXXXX cream.

The ban a XXXXXXX cream you are using is quite fine but do not stop it abruptly. Rather in my patients I suggest them to apply alternate night first and then thrice or twice weekly before completely stopping it.

Diet and daily routine plays the most important role in maintaining good glow on skin. Plenty of vitamin C and A containing fruits are always good to maintain good glow on skin.

So young lady stop worrying for natural things and restore your confidence.

With best wishes for good lowing skin.

With regards,

Dr Sanjay

Brief Answer:
Diet, daily routine & medications

Detailed Answer:
Hello young lady,

Welcome again to the forum and thanks a lot for your further follow up.

As I guided you before that the cream you are using is quite safe and has got no correlation with open pores. But in my patients I generally prefer a break routine therapy or off and on therapy where I suggest my patients to apply the cream daily for few weeks then alternate days and then just once or twice per week before stopping in three months. I give a gap of 4-8 weeks before starting it again or shifting to some other appropriate medications according to the analysis of the skin.

For open pores as I said are natural physiological and natural process of skin. So one thing is not to worry about the same. Even then if someone is tensed then I generally prefer to give Tretinoin cream. It is one of the best cream for improving the texture of open pores. The only thing is that it " MUST be used dermatological guidance only" as can cause irritation and redness if not used properly under guidance. It takes 4-8 weeks to get adjusted to the skin but once adjusted it has an additional advantage of improving he skin texture also.

SO I suggest you to meet your treating dermatologist and take necessary guidelines for the same.

Additionally as I suggested before diet and daily routine with yoga and mild exercises plays the most important role in maintaining good glow on skin. So take lot of vitamin C and A containing fruits in daily diet.

"With all my best wishes for good lowing skin."
