What Are The Repercussions Of Taking Siphene On The Wrong Day?

default
Posted on Thu, 3 Dec 2015
Question: Hi Doctor

I have been advised by my doctor to take siphene from 2-6th day and then try from 10th to 18th day. This is the second month of taking siphene. I got confused and instead of starting from 2nd day, I started taking Siphene from 5th Day. Today I am on 9th day. My questions are ok
- Is it ok to take from 5th to 9th day?
- When should we try to conceive in this month?

Thanks

Brief Answer:
siphene can be taken from 5th to 9th day.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,

Welcome to HCM.

I have read your query and understand the concern. You have asked two questions here. I will answer them one by one.

1) Yes,siphene can be taken from days 5th to 9th means there is no issue if you have taken it on 5th day and completed today. It can also be taken from day 3 to 7 apart from days 2 to 6 as your doctor advised.

But in case if you have cycle of 26 days or lesser day then it would be best to take it from 2 to 6 days otherwise if you taken it from 5 to 9 on this time then no issue.

But next time take siphene as directed by your doctor since he/she knows about your cycle better.

2) You should try to conceive exactly at the middle of your menstrual cycle where ovulation (release of eggs) occurs mostly.

To understand this, in a simple way.

In a woman of regular menstrual cycle of say 30 days, the day of ovulation is mostly at the middle of her menstrual cycle (i.e.14th or 15th day),while counting first date of the month as a first day of her menstrual bleeding.

Sometimes, ovulation day can be pre-fix or post-fix for approx 3 days, so you should have unprotected intercourse frequently between 11th to 18th dates of that month.

The time sperms can survive in the cervix is about 48 hours, once they are deposited inside the vagina.

So if you have sex on those days, starting from 11th day for about 08 days, the time of ovulation will be covered.

Hope this explanation will help you.
