Brief Answer:
Thyroid diagnostic tests;

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
The thyroid diagnostic tests consist in evaluating the thyroid function and structure.
The thyroid function panel typically includes thyroid hormones such as thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH, thyrotropin) and thyroxine (T4), and triiodothyronine (T3).
Thyroid ultrasound and scintiscan give further information regarding to thyroid gland structure.
When hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism is confirmed, some specific antibodies may be suggested to confirm the autoimmune origin.
TSH index helps to determine thyrotropic function of anterior pituitary ( in rare cases required).
If you are taking the right dose of thyroid medicine, and perhaps are even getting adrenal support, but still have many hypothyroid symptoms you may need to check reverse T3.
The exams depend on the clinical symptoms, pathology suspected and confirmed diagnosis.
Hope the information will help.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
