What Are The Chances Of HIV Infection After Protected Prostate Massage?

default
Posted on Tue, 4 Aug 2015
Question: hello,
I am 41year old male, visited UK 2 weeks ago and got 2 sessions of hand job and prostate massage, on both occasions masseuses used gloves and finger cot with some lube to massage prostate. There was no oral-genital or genital to genital contact, mainly hand genital contact.

Is there any STD risk?

Also I took H1N1 vaccine 2 months back, if I decide to take HIV duo test 4 weeks after last exposure, is there a possibility of false positive test?

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
You are safe; Result of Hiv Duo wont get affected by H1N1 vaccination

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us.

I have read your query and I am pleased to inform you that there is no risk of an STD, whatsoever, in this scenario.

STD's are only transmitted by direct/ intimate sexual contact which can be vaginal, anal Or oral forms of sexual contact.
Hand to genital contact is absolutely safe, therefore, there is no need to test for STD's including Hiv.
Nevertheless, if you still want to test for Hiv your results of HIV DUO test wont get affected by recent H1N1 vaccination because these are different viruses with no cross reacting antigens.

Thanks doctor for your reply, after the last prostate massage session i am having itching around the anal area which comes and goes with some days of constipation, is this due to STD or due to the prostate massage?

Brief Answer:
Anal itching is certainly not due to constipation

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Certainly not due to STD and I don't think it is due to prostate massage either. Anal itching could be due to constipation as hard stools may irritate the anal area.
Constipation can cause haemorrhoids which can also be one of the causes of anal itch.
