Using nasal spray to clear nose. How to stop recurring pounding heartbeat?

I wake up at night with a pounding heart and after i clear my nose with a nasal spray i go back to sleep for 2 to 4 hrs before i wake up again fro m the same problem.

You may be having an arrhythmia. Here one has recurrent episodes of heart beating fast. Some times these episodes could be XXXXXXX if the blood supply to the brain is impaired because of improper heart beat.

Such arrhythmia are most commonly encountered in people with pre-existing heart conditions.

Sometimes other conditions can aggravate such abnormal rhythm in the heart functioning. In your case the upper respiratory tract congestion could be one possibility.

A ECG taken during a episode will confirm the diagnosis. Please contact your doctor for immediate investigations and further management.
