Question: Hello, I was i a MVA in 1982, which resulted in a dislocation fracture of the right hip. I was in skeletal traction for 8 weeks. I know need a total hip replacement, however, I now have uncontrolled Type II diabetes so, I am not a candidate for surgery at this time. T he pain has gotten so severe that the Norco (10/325 I take no longer relieves the pain. Do you have any recommendations on any other pain meds that might help.

Brief Answer:
Buprenorphine patch

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Thanks for the query.

You can try Buprenorphine patches and Tramadol tablets. They should help you (please obtain the necessary prescription from your local physician). Avoid stress loading activities of the hip. Use a walking stick on the opposite side while walking.

I hope I have answered your query.

I'll be available to answer your follow up queries.
