Detailed Answer:
HI

Greetings from Dr.Divakara.P
Thanks for posting your query.

See first of all you need to get certain tests to check whether your inability to gain weight is due to any disease or it is just due to malnutrition.

In that regard I advise you to get the following tests done and revert back with reports.

FBS, PPBS , Serum TSH and Serum Cortisol level ( Morning and evening sample )

Also I need to know your parents weight and your siblings ( if any ) weight.

These are the general recommendations to increase weight :

1. Increase the total intake of calories by 10% . Make a slow increment from this levels over a periods of 2-3 weeks by 10 more percent.

2. Take high Carbohydrate food like Rice , Bread, Biscuits, Idli, Dosa etc.

3. Eat a heavy breakfast and a light dinner.

4. Eat more of Egg yolk, Potatoes, dry fruits, Sweets , Cheese and butter .

Also do daily exercise. Any kind of exercise will do , jogging, running, cycling, skipping or swimming.

Hope this information was useful to you.
Kindly revert back with the reports of tests advised .

Regards.
