Brief Answer: Wound care. Suggesting Bone scan and x ray Detailed Answer: Hello there, Welcome to Healthcare magic, Nice to meet you here, I have went through your query, removal of lymph node along with the involved melanoma is common mode of treatment in melanoma affected person, since it involves the adjacent lymph nodes. Am really concerned about his sores on legs as this need proper medical and nursing skills in order to get cured completely. In your husband case, he needs double the medical attention ,as he already removed of lymph nodes which delays the normal healing time. Follow the steps to prevent excess damage related to sores. 1. Try to move his limbs, allow his to change his posture regularly. 2. Clean wounds daily and apply necessary dressing, as most of the complications emerge as from secondary wound infections. 3. Visit surgeon for dead tissue debridement, since it prevent the process of healing. 4. Have him to take healthy diet, which supplements his daily needs, like adding fresh vegetables. Has being a melanoma candidate, I need his hip pain to be taken into account, do an X-RAY, bone scan to find any bony metastasis on hip region [most common metastasis in melanoma ]. If possible have an appointment with your treating surgeon and get treated accordingly. Take care. Dr.surendiran.g MBBS,PGD[Geriatric medicine]
