Brief Answer:
Consideration

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

In order to obtain a prescription to control pain you will need to see a physician in person for a consultation and physical examination. The physician will determine what type of pain medication you might need including dosage, duration and quantity of medication.

if you have chronic pain you will likely need to establish care with a primary care physician or pain specialist in order to manage prescriptions. If you are seeing in an emergency department they are usually only able to provide enough prescription to cover a couple of days until you see a primary doctor.

Prescriptions for pain medication must be renewed monthly by a written prescription from the physician who is actually managing your case.

Thank you again for sending your question.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
