Suggest Treatment For Upper Respiratory Infection

default
Posted on Fri, 12 Aug 2016
Question: HI doctor,
I started with a head cold (got it from my son) last sunday. The last three days I have developed a dry and "jerky" cough, my ears are plugged and my nose is stuffed. Today my nose is a bit better but still releases a lot of clear mucus, the ears are still popping and plugging. I am drinking hot water with honey and lemon and vitamin C. I have an itching sensation on the base of my throat and under my right ear. Is there is anything I should do to make this go away faster? thank you!

2. Drink lot of fluids. Drink hot soups.
3. Instill saline drops in both the nostrils for relief from nasal stuffiness.
4. Take Tylenol four times a day and also gargle with salt water for relief from itchy throat
5. Take Sudafed for relief from the ear symptoms (you may require prescription from your local doctor).
