Brief Answer:
Take mild pain killers and a hot compress.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain in the upper back radiating to the neck can be due to a muscle spasm that resulted after the fall.
The following measures will help with the pain
• Lie on a hard bed.
• Anti -inflammatory drugs like Tablet Motrin 1 tablet as and when required ( do not repeat a dose before 6 hours) with food will help relieve the pain.
• Correct your posture while sitting
• Avoid prolonged sitting
• Avoid strenuous activity & lifting heavy weights.
• Apply diclofenac gel on the affected area. Warm compresses will also help.
Last but not least, if its unbearable take medications or muscle relaxant prescribed by your physician. And if it has been gradually increasing then visit your orthopaedician and clinically-radiologically establish a diagnosis to commence definitive treatment.
I hope this answers your query.

Thanks for the reply.
When I fell, I didn't feel any problem with my back but as the days are passing,so is the pain in the back but it is not unbearable kind also.I think it got worse after I asked my roommate to massage my back.
The main point of the pain is slightly below the neck. What can it be and what do you recommend.

Brief Answer:
Can be a muscle spasm.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
It can be due to a muscle spasm that has been aggravated with massage. Avoid using a pillow and get oral muscle relaxants prescribed from your physician. Doing a hot compress will help.
