Suggest Treatment For Tremors In Hands, Head And Legs

default
Posted on Tue, 5 Jan 2016
Question: Hi I would like to ask a question...
I started to have a tremor in my hands since 2 years. The beginning of this year my head also started to shake and since 3 months I developped one in my legs aswell. This is very annoying and others notice this.
I also started to have tingling sensation on the left lower side of my mouth. My left lower leg is more swollen than my right one, same for my left cheeck in my face.
Few days ago I started to have pain in left leg and arm and also a strange feeling in my head. When I do Romberg test it's positive and also the test where you put one foot in front of another on a straight line I can't keep balance. Today this afternoon at 3pm I started to have the feeling like I was very much drunk, allthough I don't drink alcohol at all. My friend was talking but I was absent, I couldn't pay attention and also the friend saw something was wrong. I left that friends house and drove home and still I don't know how I managed driving all the way home. The left upperpart of my face was feeling strange. Like I had a local anaesthesia. At this moment I feel much more clear in my head than this afternoon but still I feel like there is something wrong.
Should I go to ER or just sleep and wait ?

Brief Answer:
You should consult a Neurologist.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Since you feel better, there is no need to rush to ER.

There is need to clarify some aspects of your condition:

- is there any relapsing/remitting course of your symptoms?

- any other previous health problems such prolonged viral infections ect.?

- any medical tests done?

One probable condition that may explain your symptoms is multiple sclerosis, and further evaluation is needed to confirm or exclude it.

There is need for you to consult a Neurologist, to have a clinical evaluation and further tests such MRI of brain and spinal cord, blood tests to rule out conditions with similar symptoms, and, if in doubt, lumbar puncture together with evoked potentials.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

I remain at your disposal for further questions and clarifications.

Take care.
