Question: hello I am 21 year old male . I have contacted in this website before according to this rough line on fore skin of my penis about a Lil more than 3 months ago . I was told that's it's balantis to wash the area and dry it out good and use over the counter cream . now I been doing all that for long time and i think it's slowly slowly growing . I can not afford any doctors at this time and the stress of living with this is not making me fall asleep and carry on to life . I need this to go away as soon as possible. I have been tested for herpes 1 and 2 twice and also took a std panel test and everything came out good . I still barely itch and only sometimes it hurts allot . mostly inside where I pee from . I take showers everyday and dry the area afterwards with a dryer . I need some one to give me a very affective way to treat this fast please. now I have been having this problem for about 5 or 6 months now . I do feel head of my penis numb when press on it sometimes . how bad is it? what can happen if it doesn't go away? please help !!

Brief Answer:
chronic balanoposthitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
it seems that you have now chronic balanoposthitis.
Since you have already tried metronidazole and clotrimazole ,antifungal ointment, other possibilities should be considered.
Irritation of the skin of the glans may be caused by some chemicals that exist in condoms, some detergents (washing powders) if not completely rinsed from your undergarments.
A swab should be taken from the glans and sent to the lab to determine whether there is an infection(fungal hypae) or urethral swab for culture & sensitivity test.
An antifungal cream, such as miconazole along with systemic anti-fungal e.g fluconazole in standard doses (150 mg orally daily)for 05 days ,if the swab shows fungal hypae will clear the lesion. Your partner should also be treated.

If the urethral swab shows any evidence of infection ,it should be treated with sensitive antibiotic/s.

A mild steroid cream, such as 1% hydrocortisone will help regress the lesion ,if the lesion is due to allergy to any of the above mentioned ingredients. Also you have to change the condom brand and washing powder too.
