Brief Answer:
Suggestive of oral thrush!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this whitish plaque in your mouth. This looks like oral thrush but am concerned because this is not common for someone of your age. I will not want to treat this without you getting fully evaluated to understand the dynamics of this condition. It would be disservice to you to treat this condition and not look for the predisposing factors and address. This is often an indicator for a weakened immune state that can be caused by drugs, diseases, poor nutrition etc. In all, see a doctor for evaluations.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Brief Answer:
Your tongue is okay. Just saw the images!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

If all we are talking about are the sores on your tongue, all you need are pain medications. Tylenol would do.

Maybe the whitis spots are reflection from the Camera and not real. Take tylenol and continue the amoxicillin. There is no need for further measures of medical attention right now. Get me update in 24-48hours and if there is need for more action, I would let you know.

I wish you well.

Im scared to take a lot of amoxicillin because last time (for the first time in my life) i got oral thrush from it. Yes, i am talking about the sores on the side of my tongue. Those will go away with Tylenol?

Answered by Dr. Ivo Ditah (51 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
They need no treatment!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

All that is required is pain control. These sores normally resolve spontaneously. If amoxicillin is not friendly to you, please tell your doctors to consider other options whenever you need antibiotics.

I wish you well.

I need to vent about something and need relief. So, my boyfriend and I have been dating for a year and a half. I am 19 years old by the way. He got tested for ALL std/HIV and he is clean. We haven't had sex yet (I'm a virgin) because I am scared I'll get a disease or a yeast infection, because one time when I gave him oral sex the following day I had a really sore throat. I went to the doctor and she prescribed me amoxicillin, and that's when I got my thrush when I started taking it. I have taken amoxicillin before and my mom said i never got thrush from it. I just recently gave him oral sex almost a week ago and got another sore throat from it, so I started taking amoxicillin and my tongue got inflamed from it like in the picture, so I'm TERRIFIED I am about to get thrush. However, sometimes I give him oral sex and nothing happens to me at all. Thats why im confused. It's stopping me from doing anything else with him, I'm even scared to give him oral sex. Why is this happening sometimes?

Brief Answer:
Not all sore throat are infectious!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I cannot tell why this happens but most likely related to the act and not infectious. If it next occurs, take no antibiotics and let's see what happens. Amoxicillin doesn't treat thrush. We need antifungal for that and you seem not to have been prescribed that in the past.

If you ever want to have oral/genital ex, condoms are a most to keep away from infections and unwanted/unplanned pregnancy.

I wish you well.

So its no infection? So the sore throat is normal after oral sex? It doesnt happen all the time, just sometimes. He is clean from diseases. Im just scared to have sex with him because of the past experiences with the oral sex. It reallt freaks me out when i get a sore throat after oral sex.

If you mut have sex, protection is mandatory!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Sex isn't all that makes love real. The moments you spend together are wonderful moments. I will always discourage unprotected sex. Your life and good health has no duplicate and you must take very good care of it.

I wish you well. The decision to have sex or not is your but be aware of the possible consequences.
