Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of GERD

default
Posted on Wed, 12 Apr 2017
Question: Hello, once a day for the past week or two I've had a sudden feeling of nausea like I'm about to vomit but then nothing happens. My mouth fills up with saliva because my body thinks I'm about to vomit but then there's nothing there. I end up having to get up and go to the bathroom to spit out all my extra spit. Typically it happens in the afternoon or early evening. A google search told me it could relate to overeating but I'm used to eating a lot of food and being fine. Additionally, it's happened on days where I've hardly eaten anything as well.

Brief Answer:
GERD related symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I can understand your concern for your symptoms.
1) Your symptoms are suggestive of GERD. This is a condition in which stomach acid reflux back into esophagus due to weak junction between stomach and esophagus.
2) Symptoms of GERD might worsen due to over-eating because of distension of stomach though there is no direct relationship between two of these.
3) You can take medication to control acidity (Pantoprazole), medication to promote movement of stomach (Lesuride) and medication to prevent nausea (Ondansetron).
4) This condition can be confirmed by upper GI endoscopy which can also give idea on extent of disease.

Hope I answered your query. If you have any further doubts, I would be happy to help you.
Have a nice day!
