Brief Answer:
Please, like him talk to an oncologist!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these swollen lymph nodes that your son has. The duration and size of these lymph nodes warrant that they should be investigated. I will like you to talk with an oncologist to examine and find out if this could be suggestive of a tumoral process. Beside this, is he having night fevers, weight loss, loss of appetite, etc? If he does, then these becoming more concerning.

If the examination is not very settled on what is going wrong, I will suggest that you request for a biopsy. This would provide a definitive answer and there would be no room for speculations anymore. Increased ALT and AST for a 17years old is not very good as well. This indicates that something may be going on with the liver.

In all, will like him to be evaluated fully and all possible causes ruled out or confirmed and addressed accordingly. Start with an Oncologist and move on from there so as to address the most concerning possibilities first.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications. Thanks for trusting using with your health questions today!

He is having transient night sweats. No other signs of illness that he has identified either independently or upon my questioning. He seems fatigued, but that is such a global symptom, and with a pubescent boy, common even when all is well. Should I wait for the CT scan of his neck and the US of his liver and the results before consulting oncology? I was a bit heartened that his White blood count was WNL. Although I do understand that this does not necessarily rule out Lymphoma or Leukemia.
