Suggest Treatment For Swollen Lymph Nodes In Groin Area

default
Posted on Wed, 16 Sep 2015
Question: Hi... I'm 38 and recently noticed a hard lump on my right outer labia. It really only hurts if my pants rub against it, but the lymph node in my groin on that side is also swollen, which is painful. It does not appear to have a "head" like an ingrown hair or pimple would, but I do shave in that area. Ive had it for about 2-3 days. I'm also not sexually active.

Brief Answer:
mass in labia and likely possiblities

Detailed Answer:
Hi!

Welcome to health care magic!

I am Dr. Saddiq Ul Abidin. I have read your problem in detail and will try to help you in best way possible.

The history you shared, makes the lymph node enlargement to be very important, as it raises possibilities of both infective and neoplastic growths. In any case you need a detailed evaluation by a gynaecologist who can examine the swelling herself. Even if it is a growth, it can be both benign and malignant as this site is vulnerable for many such growth like hematoma, lipoma, lymphoma or bartholin cysts or tumors. I don't want to evoke unnecessary agitation, but what I meant is, to get it examined so that nature of swelling can be established. You may be asked for ultrasound or biopsy of the swelling and that will guide alot towards diagnosis. In case of symptoms like weight loss, fever or malaise the need of consultation should be prioritised otherwise routine check up will help.

Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. kindly rate me before closing, and leave your feedback if possible.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ul abidin.
