Suggest Treatment For Swollen Lymph Nodes In Groin Area

default
Posted on Wed, 10 Jun 2015
Question: My lymp nodes above my groin area on both sides of my lower abdomin are swollen. One is soft and aches periodically after physical exercise like golfing & walking 18 holes. I have had a test called cystocopy and ultra sound of my kidneys which did not show any signs of cancer. I do stretching and strength exercises for my back, abdomial and leg mussels daily. Based on this information do you feel I could have a sports hernia.

Brief Answer:
may not be hernia

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

You have mentioned clearly lymph nodes are enlarged. If they are lymph nodes then they can't be hernia. However, soft lymph nodes in the groin are quite common and usually not of concern.

If it is still unclear whether these are lymph nodes or something else like hernia, an ultrasound of the groin region can clinch the diagnosis.

Hope this helps. I will be available for follow up as required.

Regards
