Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In Legs
Question: I've had 6 back surgeries, the last was a fusion 2 yrs ago in October. Now I'm having pain down both legs to the point I'm in tears! What could be causing this?

The sciatic nerve runs out from the back and down the legs. It goes down the BACK of the legs. Pain that runs in exactly the direction of a nerve is a strong clue that the nerve being disturbed is the cause of the pain.
Two years out, the surgery is not going to fail. However, the bones and disks of the back age and cutting on an area always weakens it.

not a direct effect of surgery if a surgery was 2 years ago in general.
And, pain control is not a good indication for surgery, but loss of nerve/spine function is a very good reason. Loss of bowel control, loss of strength or loss of sensation are signs indicating a likely need for back surgery
