Question: Hi Sir, hope you are doing good. My wife aged 25 has been suffering from piles since last 10 days. Having severe pain and bleeding everyday. Used Himalaya Pilex TAB and ointment. But no relief yet. Please suggest me should I go for operation or any other medicines. Your valuable suggestion will be most awaited. Thanks

Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
Treatment advised is....
Drink plenty of water
Take adequate rest.
Take paracetamol for pain. Can take ULTRACET for severe pain, but you would need a prescription for this.
Take laxative like syrup cremaffin 3 tsf twice a day. Idea is to keep stool soft and liquid so that it passes without straining and pain.
Apply locally lignocaine or xylocaine jelly 10 minutes before going for every stool. It will relieve your pain.
I generally give cap DOBESIL twice a day for 5-7 days to my patients.It helps in stoppage of bleeding.
Generally patient becomes all right with these measures.
One out of 10 patients with piles do need surgery.
