Brief Answer:
Muscular spasm

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

You seem to have spasm of the left part of the cervical muscles (neck). They have to be released sooner.

In such a case I advise my patients with topical analgesic like VOLINI gel with Hot water fomentation or baths at least twice to three times a day. You can take a simple analgesic like BRUFEN up to 600mg as when required or three times a day. Once the pain and spasm settles NUROKIND can help basically it is a methylcobalamin supplement. Unless there is proven Vit B12 deficiency there is no need to take this supplement for a month.

Suppose your pain does not subside with Brufen and Volini gel and shower bath you should go for central muscle relaxants which are basically prescription based and higher strength. Please do meet the same doctor for prescription of Baclofen or Tizanidine.

Hope this helps you.

Dear Dr.Suma,
Thanks for your prompt reply...i would like to understand few things here...
1) Do i have to apply volini gel on the affected area & then take a hot water bath.
2) Bruffen as you have prescribed has any side effects...i believe it is consumed only if suffering from fever...do correct me if i m wrong.
3) Will complete body massage would be advisable in such cases?
4) What combination of pillow, weather soft or hard ones can be used in such cases?
5) Resting one 2 pillows is advisable?
Thanks,
XXXX

2) you can take brufen for pain. it is not only used for fever its main action is pain, swelling and fever
3) non professional massages are not good during acute pain
4) you can use firm mattress which can assist normal curvatures of spine.
5) sleep on the back or left later side with pillow between knees. it relaxes the low back muscles. pillow under head should be with your own convenience.
