Question: EVERY MORNING I WAKE UP WITH EXTREMELY PAINFUL MUSCLE SPASMS IN MY GLUT MUSCLES LOWER BACK PAIN. WHAT CAN I DO FOR THIS AND WHAT IS CAUSING IT. OVER THE PAST 10 YEARS I HAVE HAD FIVE BACK SURGERIES, AND HAVE FIVE PLASTIC DISKS

Muscle cramps most of the time occur for no known reason, and they're harmless.

Sometimes, it can be due to dehydration, muscle fatigue or electrolyte abnormalities. It is better to drink sufficient fluid and also see that your intake of electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium ) is sufficient. You can drink Oralyte for this.
This can happen due to a mild nerve compression also. Do consult a neurologist in case this is persistent.
