Question: Hi, I have rather severe eczema on my hands and so recently there have been cuts on my hands due to the dryness and itching. I am worries that my hand has become infected in a few places. There are several areas on my hand are slightly swollen with white puss-filled pimple-like dots that are pink around the edges. The swelling is impairing my full range of motion on my hand. for example I cannot curl my left index finger entirely.

Brief Answer:
cellulitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

Eczema often leads to cellulitis and what you are describing is similar to cellulitis.
Here is what you should do

1. Continue to apply Neosporin ointment.
2. I recommend you to be started on antibiotics like clindamycin twice a day for 5 days
3. The hands will require dressing with Magnesium sulfate every alternate day
4. Please approach a surgeon for this as soon as possible. Further delay can worsen the infection
5. Watch out for fever

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
