1. Ear pain could be due to various causes. If you could elaborate your problems, I can help you in a better way.

2. Since how long are you suffering from this pain?

3. Do you have any associated cold, nasal block, throat pain, fever, noise in the ear, reduced hearing, dizziness or discharge from the ears?

4. Does the pain increase on chewing or talking or during the night?

5. Do you listen to music wearing ear phones?

the pain increases on chewing. and there is inflammation in my ears when I eat chilly food. I am suffering from it since the last 1and a half month. I have pain in my jaw line while eating. will I have hearing loss if I don't get it treated? I have pain while rubbing and pulling of ears. I fear there is a damage to my ear drum. I have pain both in the morning and night. please prescribe me some medicines for it.

Brief Answer:
Could be dental or TMJ issues

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for writing back

1. With the details you have furnished, I presume, your problem could be either related to dental or temporo-mandibular joint dysfunction.

2. For the time being, you can take pain relievers such as ibuprofen or diclofenac sodium. Also, you can apply pain relieving gel around the ears. Both the above medicines are available over the counter.

3. Avoid chewing on the side which hurts you more. Try to eat soft food for a week. After a week, eat soft food, but, equally on both the sides.

Hope this answers your query. Wish you good health.

Brief Answer:
Instead of increasing the dosage, try a different molecule

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for writing back

I would suggest you to take ibuprofen separately instead of the combination medicines. Diclofenac may not be suiting you.

Along with oral ibuprofen, you can try local application of pain relieving gel.

If the symptoms do not subside within 3-4 days, consult your dentist for a complete evaluation and management. Also, take care of your food habits.

Hope this answers your query. Wish you good health.

Brief Answer:
Ibuprofen can be taken for headache...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Welcome back

My sincere apologies for the delay in answering your query.

1. Ibuprofen can be taken for headache. You can take ibuprofen for 2-3 days continuously and later, use it only when required.

2. TMJ issues don't cause hearing loss.

3. Diclofenac gel of any brand can be tried.

4. More than oral and local pain relievers, its the rest for the affected joint which can give you relief. Even after following the above measures if you are not getting better, then, MRI/CT Scan of the TMJ has to be done.

Hope this answers your query.
