Question: Hi, I have IBS, only bothers me 1 or 2 X a month. Always diarrhea. Usually used to be is I got nervous or had no time. Lately, happens on spur of the moment, not much waning. Anyway, a doctor told me to take PrilosecOTC for my reflux, heartburn. I never really noticed it , it was so non noticeable. Yesterday I had a spicy casserole at bedtime. I knew that was stupid! Today I have had diarrhea 3X and I took Immodium 3X. Lots of bloating and gas. Is heartburn irritating the IBS?

Brief Answer:
Ok

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for posting your question on Healthcaremagic.
The burning that you are having could be due to GERD or even the anxiety of an anticipated diarrhoea could trigger it.
For the burning Tab Esmoperazole should help.
As with the diarrhoea do you have fever?I could be due to a stomach flu or IBS.
For relief of symptoms of IBS Mebeverine hydrochloride is highly recommended.
Just relax it will settle down soon.
Avoid Spicy and oily food.
Hope this helps
Best wishes
