Brief Answer:
Benzodiazepines can be used.

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Most of antidepressants take about 4-6 weeks time to show their effects. While in some individuals this might take longer to get full effects. In order to prevent depressive symptoms and anxiety in that period benzodiazepines are added. Xanax can be used on sos basis for these symptoms. If this is not working then other faster drugs like Etizolam can be used. The drug has very less risk of dependence and thus helps a lot in reducing the symptoms of anxiety and panic attacks. You can discuss with your doctor for that drug and can take the drug on SOS basis.

Thanks, Hope this helps you. Please don't hesitate to ask again for more doubts.

Take care
