Brief Answer:
Need few more details

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX

Thanks for writing to us.
I would like to ask few more details.
Do you have fever?
Do you have cough,headache,sore throat?
Do you feel pain over the cheeks?

For cold I would start Antihistamines like cetrizine 10 mg twice a day.
Nasal decongestant like Nasoclear saline nasal drops. Instill 2 drops in each nostril 5-6 times a day.
Stem inhalation for 15 minutes three times a day. It will effectively give relief from nasal congestion
Avoid exposure to cold and avoid cold food.
I would also suggest do not go for swimming until cold resolves.

Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any more queries I will be happy to help you.
Thank you.

Hello Doctor

Thank you for your quick response and advise. I d not have fever or pain around cheeks but feels ears blocked. No headache or sore throat.
Also, I just wished to know if there is some prevention I could take when I go swimming to avoid this in future.

Looking forward to your response.
Thanking you.

Brief Answer:
Common cold

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX
Thanks for your information.

According to your history it looks like common cold.
Ear block due to nasal congestion.
When you wear head cap you should cover you ears also.
After swimming wash your face with soap.
Notice that if you only experience cold after swimming it suggests allergy. Then you can use nose clips to avoid entering water into nose.

Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any queries I will be happy to help you.
Thank you.
