Suggest Treatment For Severe Acid Reflux And Nausea
Question: I have Gerd's disease and take 1 60 mg. capsule of Dexilant for the past 2 weeks. However, I am still experiencing severe acid reflux and nausea. I was wondering if I can take 2 capsules a day to hopefully experience greater relief?

YES you can use 120mg dexilant per day

With regards to dexilant use you can double the dosage up to 120mg per day in two divided doses.
If still no improvement you can use zantac 300mg before bed time.
You need to change your lifestyle as follow:
-use two pillows when you lay down. -Avoid cafee,carbonated drinks, smoking,alcohol.
-Try to eat often and small meals. -Eat three hours before going to bed. -Increase your physical activity. - Try to avoid unnecessary stress

Dr. Shehu, I also take Famotidine (40 mg.) nightly. Can I continue taking that with the 2 capsules of Dexilant (in divided doses)?

I suggest to use both of them for two weeks.If your symptoms will improve during this time than you can stop using famotidine and continue only with DEXILANT two capsules per day till 8 weeks.
