Brief Answer:
An optimal management strategy for your high BP is quite possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern, and I am glad to confirm you that there is nothing to worry about high blood pressure management.

There exist several classes of anti-hypertensives, so it's quite possible to properly treat your high BP.

I believe you have already checked for secondary causes of hypertension (complete blood count for excluding anemia, thyroid function tests, renal function tests, adrenal function tests including blood electrolytes, etc) before starting your current high BP therapy.

If not, you should perform a comprehensive medical check up to investigate for the above.

If no secondary causes of hypertension exist, then you are able to receive any classes of anti-hypertensives, such as ACEI (ramipril, lisinopril, fosinopril, etc), ARB (valsartan, irbesartan, olmesartan, etc), calcium channel blockers (amlodipine, lercanidipine, etc), etc.

You just need to discuss with your attending physician about the available options to follow (after those lab tests).

Meanwhile, I recommend you to closely monitor you BP values for a couple of days (several times daily), and review all the gathered information to conclude the right decision for you.

Hope to have been helpful to you!

Feel free to ask me whenever you need! Greetings! Dr. Iliri
