Suggest Treatment For Scabies
Question: What is the latest treatment for scabies? I.ve read a lot of research & some studies. But nothing new has surfaced & none of the standard current ,have helped. I've spent a fortune & tried every sure to do it herbs & steaming, laundry, new mattresses ends, shampooing the carpets. Also aware of reinfecting myself. I'm at my I also have Mastocytosis. Please save my sanity?

I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
In my opinion most of your symptoms may not be due to Scabies, rather they may be due to manifestation of Mastocytosis.
Also improper technique of using medicine for scabies may also be the reason.
First I would like to explain about Scabies treatment (Even though you might have followed the same thing).
You need to use full tube of Permethrin ointment in a single setting. You should cover all body parts from neck below, avoiding face. Ointment should be in contact with skin for a minimum period of 12 hours during night( apply it at 8pm and take bath at 8am).
Second part of scabies treatment is washing all cloths that you have used recent 1 month, starting from undergarments to bedsheets in warm water.
Also people in close contact with you should also recieve the treatment.
Treatment of Mastocytosis is mostly conservative and rarely requires additional measures.
1) Avoid all triggering factors that can stimulate/ aggrevate symptoms like some drugs like Aspirin, NSAIDS, alcohol, codein etc.
2) Use H1 or H2 antihistaminics for symptomatic relief.
3) You can also try topical corticosteroid for better results if symptoms are not responding to any other medications.
4) Rarely PUVA treatment is advised. But it is advised for severe, recurrent cases of Mastocytosis.
5) Primary disease of Mastocytosis should be dealt with Chemotherapy.
I would recommend you to consult your dermatologist and discuss the mentioned details for treatment of Mastocytosis as it is probably the main culprit of your symptoms.
