Posted on Sat, 30 Jan 2016
Question: I have relapsing-remitting MS. I also have Epilepsy. Because of the MS, I suffer from extreme fatigue. My neurologist has me on Adderall, which is great during the day, but makes it hard to sleep. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Read below

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

Generally Adderall effect doesn't last that long if taken in the morning. So the first suggestion is to check whether you are taking simple Adderall or perhaps Adderall XR which has a more prolonged effect. If the XR it may be switched to normal Adderall. If already on simple Adderall lowering the dose may be tried although you do not mention the current dosage.

If Adderall changes have already been tried or simply you do not want that, then your other medications can be considered. You mention to take treatment for depression and anxiety, but no information on the names, dosages and time of day you take them. Those drugs often have effect on sleep, so their modification or a change to more sedative forms may have a beneficial effect on sleep. However to make more precise suggestions the information I mentioned is necessary.
