Question: Hello, I have been having recurring lung infection, bronchitis and pneumonia for 3 years. I was initially diagnosed with asthma but when nothing helped treat the asthma, I switched doctors and he ran IGG subclass test and found I was low in IGG subclass 1 with a level of 352 against normal value of 422-1292. subclass 2 and 3 normal.subclass 4 was a low 2 but normal values for this are (1-291).

After a few rounds of antibiotics i started to feel better but, the symptos of coughing and wheezing in 1 lung came back more. It never fully went away, jut lessened alot. Now that I am 2 months out from the doxy for 30 days the cough and left lung pain came back more. My Doctor tested my pneumo levels and 7 levels came out low. I got a pneumovax 23 vaccine and 1 month later which is now, i got tested for pneumo 14 serotype. only level that came up low was pneumo ab type 12 (12f). My doctor was waiting for this test to see what treatment if any I would need for the immune issue. He is out of town and I am waiting to talk to him next week.

My question is, can that one level being low keep giving me the issues I am continuing to have? if so, would I need Immunoglobulin treatment to fix this? What does Pneumo ab type 12 mean? Should I have developed immunity to it after the vaccine or is it normal to not get immunity to some of the vaccine? Is pneumo ab type 12 correlate to a certain meaning or illness? Thanks for the response, however, I already had the pneumovax 23 vaccine and the only one that came up on my tiger is pneumo an type 12. I spoke to my doctor because I am still having symptoms and he said he wouldn't treat me for the low subclasses because I reacted to the pneumonia bad 23 with all but one , which is number 12 not getting immunity. But I'm concerned that I'm still coughing with on and off swollen glands. Do people typically have low subclasses and get no treatment, yet get sick often? I'm confused . Please help. Thabks
